Heritage Volunteers prepare for reunion
It’s a busy time for the Eudunda Family Heritage Gallery volunteers, as they have been celebrating ‘About Time’, South Australia’s History Festival during May, and also recognising volunteer week during the 14th to 20th May. The gallery is wholly operated by volunteers who do a marvellous job of not only maintaining our districts heritage and history but also operating one of the jewels in Eudunda’s tourism attractions that both locals and tourists enjoy and gain benefit from viewing and also importantly with research data.
This weekend volunteers were busy copying and preparing old photos from as far back as the 1800’s for this Sunday 27th May reunion of the Neales Flat School 70th anniversary since the school was closed. The reunion is open to anyone interested in the school’s role within the Neales Flat community, and of meeting some of the students who attended there and their families and would like to catch up for a chat. The reunion is being held at the Neales Flat School from 10am, with a church service at 10:30, and a pooled lunch at noon.
All being well Stella Schulz (nee Weiss) who will celebrate her 101st birthday two days earlier will attend along with many other former students.
Volunteers Samuel Doering, Sylvia Sander were helping Fay Grosser preparing photos from part of the Heritage Gallery’s great display of the schools in the area for this coming Sunday’s Neales Flat School Reunion celebrating the 70th year since the closure of the school.
