ZERNER – DRECKOW – GROPE – GEHLING – GOEDECKE
This book is a history of my ancestors, traced from the families that immigrated to Australia in the 1800s. I have only given details of those families that are my direct ancestors, together with basic information about other members of those families.
The book is dedicated to my mother Alice Goedecke, who hoped to see a history of the Grope family, and my daughter Kerri-Leanne and her family, who wanted to know of their heritage. Included in the book is information about ancestors in the following families:
MY MATERNAL ANCESTORS
Grope Family Dreckow Family Zerner Family
MY PATERNAL ANCESTORS
Goedecke Family Gehling Family
It is interesting to note that difficulties were encountered finding people because of spellings of surnames, and names on gravestones often left off one or more Christian names. It was through birth and death dates that some were established as being part of the heritage!
